Easy Granola

Real granola could not be easier to make.  Mix up some ingredients with your hands.  Spread on a pan and bake low and slow.

The result, in comparison to the sugar and preservative laden product you get in a box at the store is so homemade comfort delicious you will never go back to the fake stuff.

Homemade granola can be eaten so many wonderful ways, adding a sweet cinnamon crunch into any fruit, pudding or ice cream dish.

Layer into a parfait with fruit and coconut milk yogurt.

Sprinkle on ice cream.

Add even more ingredients (dried fruit, nuts and seeds) and use as a take along or travel trail mix.

Sprinkle on a fruit pie.

My very favorite is in a bowl with some real almond or hazelnut milk poured over top.  Pure heaven.

Ingredients:

2 cups oats (use gluten free oats for a gf option)

½ cup chopped raw almonds

¼ cup sesame seeds

1 teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon nutmeg

½ teaspoon ginger

½ teaspoon sea salt

¼ cup honey

1 tablespoon coconut oil

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Mix together all ingredients except honey and oil.  Add honey and oil and mix well with your hands.  Bake on a cookie sheet for about 20 to 30 minutes checking every 10 minutes and moving the granola around.

Let the granola sit out until crisp and very cool.  Store in an airtight container.
